As per reports, the Income Tax Department is conducting searches at the media group Dainik Bhaskar’s offices in Bhopal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad along with several other locations.
ANI stated quoting a source that the searches are under process at several locations involving promoters, residences, and offices in connection to a tax evasion case.
Digvijaya Singh, Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh said on Twitter as cited by Moneycontrol that tax officials “are present” at a half dozen premises of the group, including at its office at Press complex in state capital Bhopal.

As per latest reports, On Thursday Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned for almost an hour after the opposition members attempted to raise issues of the income tax raids on the newspaper group Dainik Bhaskar.
The leading newspaper group have published several stories on COVID 19 deaths in the second wave of the pandemic. It also reported about the bodies dumped in Ganga river which was found to be floating in the river while some washed up on the banks of the rivers in Uttar Pradesh.
