Amid escalating tensions following India’s precision strike on terror camps under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong statement warning of retaliation. In a series of forwarded messages attributed to the Pakistan PM, he said, “India will have to pay for the attack on Pakistan.”
Sharif also claimed that Pakistan retaliated by striking down five Indian warplanes, and alleged that India’s operation killed 26 Pakistani civilians and injured 46. He further vowed revenge for the casualties, stating, “We promise to take revenge for the death of Pakistani civilians.”
In his remarks, Sharif affirmed, “Pakistan stands with its army and will fight and win,” and called India’s move to carry out cross-border strikes a “mistake.”
These statements come in the wake of India’s confirmed precision-guided joint tri-services operation targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Ministry of Defence maintained that only terror infrastructure was hit, and no Pakistani military targets were attacked.
Meanwhile, one Indian Army jawan was martyred earlier today in a ceasefire violation in the Poonch sector, as Pakistan resorted to artillery shelling in civilian areas. The Indian Army has been granted operational freedom to respond appropriately.
