
At a virtual Leaders’ Summit on climate hosted by the United States, PM Modi announced “As a climate responsible country, India welcomes its partners to create templates for sustainable development in India. These can also help developing countries who affordable access to green finance and clean technologies”.
PM Modi later said that this why he and US PResident Joe Biden are launching the ‘India-US’ climate and clean energy Agenda 2030 partnership’.
“Together, we will help mobilize investments, demonstrate cleaner technologies and enable green collaborations”, he added further.
Attributing the threat of climate change as a “lived reality” for millions in the world, PM Modi said that India’s lifestyle is rooted in sustainable practices and despite the country’s development challenges, it has taken many bold steps to clean energy.”
PM Modi further added that India’s per capita carbon footprint is lower than the global average of 60% because India’s lifestyle is rooted in sustainable practices.
Nearly 40 other leaders are participating in the summit. The summit is part of a series of global meeting focussing on climate issues being held under COP 26 scheduled in November 2021 end.
