It has become pretty evident that the legal troubles surrounding the former president of the United States and billionaire Donald Trump are far from over. In the latest blow Jim Trusty who was in the top legal team submitted in court that he would not be able to represent Mr Trump anymore citing “irreconcilable differences”. Trusty withdrew his representation to the former president in a defamation case against American media house CNN.

The lawyer was one of the key figures who defended Trump in the handling of classified documents case last week in which the former president was indited.

Trusty over his withdrawal decision termed it a “logical time” to pull out of the case. before joining the Trump legal team, Jim Trusty served in the US Justice Department. In his statement in the court, he said that he “can no longer effectively and properly represent” the former president.

Welcoming the decision spokesperson to the former president thanked Jim for his services and said that the lawsuit is “entering in a new phase.”

Trump filed a case against CNN where he accused the network for using the phrase “Big Lies” against the claims Trump made around the results of 2020 US presidential elections. CNN in their counter has asked the court to shut the case calling it an attempt in silencing the criticism around the former president.

The ripples of resignation grew larger in the Trump legal team as he was indited in the Mar-a-Lago resort classified documents case last week. As a measure of damage control the responsibility to handle the documents case has been handed over to Todd Blanche, who represented the former president in the controversial hush money case whereas Lindsey Halligan will be taking the place of Jim Trusty to continue with CNN defamation case.
