IndiGo has begun flight operations from the recently inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The airline’s first flights connecting Delhi and Ayodhya are scheduled to take off on January 6, 2024, with regular daily services starting from January 10, 2024. The city is anticipating an increased number of tourists coming in with the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024.

These newly introduced flight routes are designed to facilitate direct travel to Ayodhya for pilgrims coming from both Delhi and Ahmedabad. IndiGo aims to enhance connectivity across its extensive network, covering destinations within India and internationally.

Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed excitement regarding the new route, highlighting the initiation of operations between Delhi and Ayodhya as a significant milestone, marking their 86th domestic destination and the 118th overall destination in the 6E network. Additionally, he conveyed plans to extend connectivity to Ayodhya from Ahmedabad and Mumbai in the upcoming weeks. Highlighting their dedication as India’s leading carrier, Malhotra emphasized their commitment to delivering seamless connectivity within the 6E network, ensuring affordable, punctual, courteous, and stress-free travel experiences for customers.

The flights include Flight 6E2128 from Delhi to Ayodhya and Flight 6E2129 from Ayodhya to Delhi.
