On Saturday, PM Modi addressed an event at the Scindia School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of its 125th Founder’s Day programme. While addressing the event, PM Modi praised Madhavrao Scindia (father of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia). “Maharaja Madho Rao Scindia-I Ji was a visionary who had a dream of creating a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.

“Remember another mantra of mine. Always think out of the box. Like when our Madhavrao Scindia ji was the Railway Minister, he had started Shatabdi trains. Such modern trains could not be introduced in India again for three decades. Now ‘Vande Bharat’ is also popular in the country and just yesterday you have seen the progress of ‘Namo Bharat’,” said PM Modi.

“The height of success at which India is today is unprecedented. India’s influence is established all over the world. On August 23, India reached the Moon, where no country had been able to reach till now. Now, India’s flag was hoisted in G-20 also. Today, India is the fastest growing large economy in the world. Today, India is number one in global fintech adoption rate. Today, India is number 1 in the world in real time digital transactions,” said PM Modi.

The event was graced by laying the foundation stone for the Multipurpose Sports Complex in the school, releasing a commemorative stamp in honour of the 125th anniversary of the Scindia School and presenting the school’s annual awards to distinguished alumni and top achievers.

PM paid floral tribute to the statue of Shivaji Maharaja and took a walkthrough of the exhibition displayed. PM goes on to add the contributions made by the Scindia family, remembering the ghats constructed by the family in Kashi and contributions to Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

The event was attended by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Union Ministers — Jyotiraditya Scindia, Narendra Singh Tomar and Jitendra Singh.

The Scindia School was established in 1897 by the then-Gwalior royalty and is located atop the historic Gwalior Fort.
