IndianOil Corporation Limited issued an official statement regarding a fire incident that occurred at its Mathura Refinery on November 12, 2024, during the restart of the Crude Distillation Unit following a planned maintenance shutdown.

The company confirmed that the fire was promptly extinguished and despite the initial emergency, operations at the refinery were unaffected. The company emphasized that there was no significant damage to plant equipment or machinery, ensuring that refinery activities continued without interruption.

Eight personnel sustained burn injuries during the incident, with three individuals requiring hospitalization at Apollo Hospital in Delhi. Fortunately, all injured staff members are stable and their recovery is being carefully monitored, the company added.

In its official statement, IndianOil also highlighted that an investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the fire.
