The Union Cabinet meeting is in progress under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting is been conducted via video conferencing.
Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this meeting will include Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and all union ministers. The cabinet is most likely to make some big decisions in the meeting about the current economic situation of the country.
In the last cabinet meeting which was held on October 29, the cabinet took some important decisions. It had approved the extension of norms for mandatory packaging in jute materials, mandating 100% of the food-grains and 20% of sugar to be packaged in diversified jute bags.
The cabinet took three important decisions under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. The new ethanol prices were announced at Rs 62.65 per litre to benefit sugarcane farmers and mills. While the prices of B-heavy and C-heavy ethanol we announced to be Rs. 57.61 and Rs. 45.69 respectively. Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar pointed out that there used to be only one rate for all types of ethanol but they differentiated the price on the basis of the production process.
