Famous lyricist Javed Akhtar is known for his opinions and thoughts on social and political issues. Sometimes, he gets praised, while sometimes he even gets trolled for his remarks. This time, Javed Akhtar has praised Hindus and Hindu culture. Speaking at an event in Mumbai over Diwali, Javed Akhtar expressed his views on tolerance, Hindu culture and dieties.
While speaking at the event, Javed Akhtar said that Hindus are tolerant, generous and large-hearted. He even said that India’s democracy is intact because of Hindus.
“There are some people who have always been intolerant. Hindus are not like that. Their speciality is that they are generous and large-hearted. Don’t finish that, else you will become like others. This is Hindu culture, this is civilisation. It has taught us democratic attitudes. That’s why there is democracy in this country,” ANI quoted Javed Akhtar.
“Thinking that we are right and everyone else is wrong is not the work of Hindus. Whoever taught you this is wrong,” added Javed Akhtar.

Javed Akhtar also raised that slogans of Jai Siya Ram by saying that the slogan is a fine example of love and unity.
“There are many deities, but when we talk about the ideal husband and ideal wife, Ram and Sita come to mind. ‘Jai Siya Ram’ is the finest example of love and unity,” said Javed Akhtar.
