The PDF being widely shared is based on a 2005 notification and was officially circulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs in March 2010 as part of a revamp of civil defence districts under a centrally sponsored scheme. It does not represent the current district list for the May 7, 2025 mock drills.
Why is it resurfacing now?
Due to the ongoing nationwide preparedness exercise directed by the Union Government following the Pahalgam terror attack, citizens are seeking more clarity on which districts are participating.
