New Delhi, Mar 9: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday arrested former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia after several hours of questioning inside Delhi’s Tihar Jail in an ongoing probe of a case related to alleged Delhi excise policy scam, sources said.
Reacting to the arrest of Sisodia by ED, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleged that ED arrested Sisodia because a bail hearing is scheduled tomorrow and he would have been released.
Kejriwal tweeted and alleged, “Manish was first arrested by the CBI, it did not find any evidence, no money was found in the raid. There is a bail hearing tomorrow. Manish would have been released tomorrow, so today ED arrested him. They have only one aim- to keep Manish inside at all costs by creating new fake cases every day. The public is watching, the public will answer.”
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Sisodia on February 26 after allegedly not cooperating during questioning at CBI headquarters here related to alleged Delhi excise policy scam. He was sent to CBI remand after which he was lodged in Tihar Jail.
AAP alleged that PM Narendra Modi is misusing probe agencies. AAP tweeted in Hindi on its official twitter handle and alleged, “The country is watching. How Modi ji is achieving his lust for power by putting honest leaders in jail by misusing agencies.”
