Devendra Fadnavis wants to quit as Deputy CM amid Maharashtra result

In a resolute statement, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra has urged the party to grant him the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

During the 2019 polls, Maharashtra, which sends the second-highest number of MPs to the Lok Sabha in the country, played a pivotal role in PM Modi’s victory, with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance securing 41 of the state’s 48 seats.

However, in the 2024 Verdict, the state dealt a significant blow to the NDA. The opposition-led Maha Vikas Aghadi dominated the state, leading or winning in 30 seats, while the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance trailed far behind, leading or winning in just 17 seats.
