Following the Delhi Red Fort blast that claimed at least eight lives and injured several others, Maharashtra has been placed on high alert. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis convened a high-level meeting with senior police officials at Varsha, reviewing the state’s overall security preparedness.

According to Maharashtra Home Department sources, the meeting came hours after the recovery of 360 kg of possible ammonium nitrate from Faridabad, Haryana. CM Fadnavis instructed the police and all security agencies to remain vigilant and maintain heightened surveillance across sensitive areas.

“After the Delhi incident, the Chief Minister has once again instructed all police units to remain alert. All agencies have been directed to ensure maximum preparedness,” ANI reported.

Earlier, multiple agencies linked the Red Fort car blast to a possible terror plot, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police’s special cell are jointly probing the case. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been briefed on the situation by Home Minister Amit Shah, who also held discussions with senior security officials to assess the threat landscape across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh.
