Delhi Police, on Wednesday, has announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each for any information that leads to the arrest of Deep Sidhu, Jugraj Singh and Gurjant Singh in connection with the Republic Day violence at the National Capital.
The Delhi Police has also announced rewards worth Rs 50,000 each for the arrest of farm leaders like Buta Singh, Jasbir Singh, Iqbal Singh and Sukhdev Singh over their alleged involvement in the tractor rally violence the same day.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police, responsible for the investigation have started to identify the rioters responsible for the violence on January 26 in the name of farmers’ tractor parade with the help of the forensic team.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said the Delhi government is releasing a list of 115 protesters arrested by police concerning the incident. ” They are in different jails of the city. Our government will make every effort to trace the protesters who are missing and I will even speak to the Lt Governor and the Centre if the need arises.”
Thousands of protesting farmers had clashed with the police during the tractor parade called by farmer unions on January 26 to highlight their demand for the repeal of the Centre’s three farm laws.
Many of the protesters, driving tractors, reached the Red Fort and entered the monument. Some protesters even hoisted religious flags on its domes and a flagstaff at the ramparts, where the national flag is unfurled by the prime minister on Independence Day.
