Defence Minister Rajnath on Saturday took to Twitter condemning the attack on Shri. Madan Sharma, a 62-year-old retired Navy officer who was beaten up allegedly by Siv Sena workers after he forwarded a cartoon on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on WhatsApp on Friday. The incident took place around 11.30 am in Lokhandwala complex and footages showing a man being beaten up by a group of men went viral in social media.
In his tweet, the Union Minister said that he had contacted Madan Sharma and wished for his speedy recovery. He also said that such acts of hooliganism are completely unacceptable.
Spoke to retired naval officer, Shri Madan Sharma who was attacked by hooligans in Mumbai and enquired about his health. Such attacks on Ex-Servicemen is completely unacceptable and deplorable. I wish Madanji a speedy recovery.

Earlier, daughter of Madan Sharma has come up with the demand for ensuring that he will get justice after the six arrested people in connection with the case was given bail.
