Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level security review meeting today at South Block, New Delhi, to assess the current situation along the western border and review operational preparedness of the Indian Armed Forces.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

The review comes in the backdrop of heightened tensions along the India-Pakistan border following Operation Sindoor, during which India carried out precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

According to earlier updates from the Indian Army, Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple coordinated attacks using drones and munitions along the entire Western Border on the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025. Several ceasefire violations (CFVs) were also reported along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army confirmed that these drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and a befitting response was delivered to the CFVs. The Army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating: “All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”

The situation remains tense, with military and civilian authorities on high alert across sensitive regions.
