CBI raided two places in Kochi after the case was registered of alleged violation of Foregin Fund Case in the concern of Kerala Life Mission project for providing houses for the poor.
Santosh Eapan of Unitac builder the winner of the project houses and office was raided and is charged in this case.
The FCRA violation and corruption in the project has turned into a big political issue as the leader of opposition in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala alleging that the Swapna Suresh a key accused in the gold smuggling case, had admitted before the NIA court that she receive one crore as commission for the project.
The opposition has blamed that the corruption has taken place in the selection of contractor by Red Crescent.
Red Crescent an international humanitarian movement, had agreed to give ₹20 crore funds for the life mission project.
Mr. Ramesh Chennithala said the Chief Minister has failed to hand over the copy of MoU signed by the Red Crescent and the state government.
He alleges the commission involved in this case is upto ₹9 crore.
