Ghatkopar hoarding owner Bhavesh Bhide arrested by Mumbai Police from Udaipur

The owner of illegal hoarding in Ghatkopar, Bhavesh Bhide, has been arrested by Mumbai Police Crime Branch. He was arrested from Udaipur and is brought to Mumbai. Bhide’s alleged illegal hoarding’s collapse in an unprecedented dust storm in Mumbai on May 13 claimed 16 lives.

The crime branch team of Mumbai Police have arrested Bhide, who is the director of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, the advertising agency responsible for erecting the hoarding in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai.

Bhushan Gagrani, the commissioner of BMC, made a statement while talking to the reporters, after inspecting the site in Ghatkopar, that 16 people have died in the tragedy and the rescue operation was now complete at the site.

The civic chief added that they have thoroughly checked the site to ensure that no more person was trapped there.

The agencies involved in the rescue operation included BMC, Mumbai Police, BPCL, NDRF, Mumbai Fire Brigade, and Mahanagar Gas, and have completed the said operation while maintaining “proper coordination.”

As of now, the work of clearing the debris will continue through the day, added the commissioner.
