Following the Saraswati idol immersion in Bihar, communal conflicts erupted across various regions, resulting in over 40 individuals sustaining injuries, according to police reports. The disturbances were particularly pronounced in Darbhanga, where approximately 50 suspects were arrested in response to the unrest.

Subsequently, police initiated separate First Information Reports (FIRs) against 170 identified suspects and 400 individuals whose identities remained unknown. These FIRs were filed at Bahera, Bishanpur, Hayaghat, and Bhalpatti police stations.

Senior SP Jagunath Jala Reddy of Darbhanga confirmed that at least 53 named accused had been apprehended and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. He also assured ongoing efforts to capture the remaining suspects involved in the clashes.

Darbhanga district magistrate Rajeev Raushan addressed reporters, noting the incident in the Bahera police station area and highlighting the prompt intervention of officials to bring the situation under control.

The clashes weren’t limited to Darbhanga alone; police records indicated similar disturbances in other Bihar regions such as Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Sitamarhi, Sheikhpura, Siwan, and Jamui during the Saraswati idol immersion period.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have intensified efforts to ensure peace and security in affected areas.

In conclusion, the communal clashes that erupted across various regions of Bihar following the Saraswati idol immersion underscore the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within communities. The incidents in Darbhanga and other areas highlight the need for vigilant law enforcement and community engagement to prevent such conflicts from escalating. As authorities continue their efforts to address the root causes of these tensions and apprehend those responsible, it is imperative for all stakeholders to work together towards fostering mutual respect, understanding, and coexistence among different groups in society. Only through concerted efforts can Bihar and its communities move forward towards a future of unity and prosperity.
