CMD, SJVN commences Dam Concreting of Dhaulasidh Hydro Project in Hamirpur

Chairman cum Managing Director, SJVN, Nand Lal Sharma Sunday visited under construction of 66 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project, Himachal Pradesh and participated in the concreting of the Dam with the press of the button at Sanotu, Hamirpur.

With the completion of excavation works at the Dam pit and both the river banks, Dam concreting work has commenced today. Now, the project has entered an advanced stage of construction. Mr Sharma also inaugurated the Non-Family Accommodation for project employees at Salasi, Hamirpur.

The bachelor accommodation has been constructed at an accelerated pace to facilitate the employees posted at the project. This will also enable faster project execution by facilitating the 24×7 availability of the employees at project sites.

Sharma took a detailed review & monitored the ongoing construction activities at various project components. Excavation works at the Power House site have also been completed and the first stage of concreting of the Power House will commence shortly. Excavation works of Tail Race Channel are also nearing completion. Mr Sharma conveyed his satisfaction with the pace of work.

Addressing the employees and contractor’s manpower deployed at various project sites, Nand Lal Sharma motivated all to ensure the completion of the project within the scheduled timeline in December 2024. On this occasion, Sh. Parminder Awasthi, Head of the Project along with project officials were also present.

Notably, the Foundation Stone of the 66 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 27, 2021.

Beas River is Rs 687 crores and the financial closure of the project has been stamped with Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank. On commissioning, the project will generate 304 million units of energy annually. The levelized tariff for the generated electricity will be Rs. 4.46 per unit.

This hydro project is majorly contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the region. With the construction activities of the project in full swing, multiple job opportunities, direct and indirect, have been generated. The project has also given a boost to local businesses. Under the CSR initiatives, various community assets are being developed which are benefitting the local populace and the state of Himachal Pradesh.
