The Central Investigation Bureau, Jammu, on Tuesday raided the residences of former minister and RB Educational Trust’s chairperson Chaudhary Lal Singh and other accused  including ex-DC, ex-Tehsildar, ex-Naib Tehsildar of Kathua on allegations of having facilitated the Trust in possessing land much beyond ceiling limit & submitting false affidavit in Trust’s support.

The CBI has registered a Prelimenary Inquiry agaisnst RB Education Trust of Kathua and other public servants to probe allegations of illegal gratification and extraneous consideration by revenue and forest officials for allwoing the sale and purchcase of forest land. The PE alleged that false certificates of the land, which comes under exempted category of Jammu &Kashmir Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976 were used by the educational trust in its alleged land-grabbing activities.

Investigation is underway to trace the documents realted to the land allotment done for the trust. CBI decided to procees with the raids after some of the documents requested by it were repoted missing and the trust submitted false affidavit.

The land alloted to the trust, which is allegedly beyond the ceiling limit has B.ed and nursing colleges on it.
