For the third day in a row, the CBI questioned West Bengal minister Paresh Adhikari about his daughter Ankita’s “illegal” hiring as a primary school teacher.
On Friday, the Calcutta High Court fired Ankita Adhikari from her employment as a teacher in a government-aided school and ordered her to repay the income she earned throughout her 41-month tenure.
The Minister of State for Education, Paresh Adhikari, arrived at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters at 10:35 a.m. With a file including various critical documents pertaining to the appointment, according to individuals close to him.
Mr Adhikari may be questioned about multiple phone calls he made from his cellphone. Regarding his daughter Ankita’s appointment, according to a CBI official.
“The calls may have connections with the appointment of his daughter as an assistant teacher in a primary school. Like yesterday, we will videograph the entire interrogation,” the CBI detective said.
In conjunction with the probe, the Mekliganj MLA was questioned for approximately nine hours. On Friday and nearly four hours on Thursday night.
CBI insiders told Press Trust of India that Ankita Adhikari could be questioned by the central agency next week.
