In a scathing remark during his national address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Pakistan was forced to initiate ceasefire talks after its defence systems and drone fleet were decimated by India’s armed forces.

Buri tarah pitne ke baad Pakistan sena ne DGMO ko sampark kiya (After being destroyed badly, the Pakistan Army contacted our DGMO),” PM Modi said, underscoring how India’s military response compelled Pakistan to step back and seek de-escalation.

The Prime Minister highlighted how Pakistan launched waves of drone and missile attacks, only to see them intercepted mid-air by India’s indigenous air defence systems, including the Akash SAM and anti-drone technology.

“Our armed forces not only struck terrorist hideouts in Pakistan but also crushed their military response in the air. Pakistan dared to attack us instead of standing with us against terrorism — and they had to pay the price,” Modi declared.

He emphasized that the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, where innocent civilians were killed based on their religion, left India with no option but to retaliate under Operation Sindoor.

Now, as Pakistan retreats under international and battlefield pressure, Modi said the world has witnessed India’s capability — and resolve.
