Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda has expressed strong confidence that his party will secure over 370 seats in the upcoming elections on June 4. He predicts significant gains in states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Telangana.
In an interview with CNN-News18, Nadda stated that the BJP will maintain its strength in Northern India. “We will increase our tally in UP. In West Bengal, we will touch 30-plus seats this time. In Odisha, we will cross 18-plus seats and in Telangana, we will double our tally,” he said.
Nadda also mentioned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to cross 400 seats in total. He assured that the BJP will keep its seat count steady in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. “We will maintain our strength in Maharashtra and Bihar. In Andhra Pradesh, we will win at least 4-5 seats, and our alliance will be victorious. In Tamil Nadu, we will open our account and our vote share will increase significantly,” he added.
Addressing the opposition’s claims, Nadda said, “Opposition is saying we will not cross 400 seats, which means they admit we are near 400. They have lost ground beneath their feet. BJP is dominating the agenda and the scenario.” He emphasized that people trust Narendra Modi’s leadership. “A Congress voter may vote for Congress but in their minds and hearts also there is Modi,” he said.
Nadda also hinted at new initiatives and experiments in the anticipated “Modi 3.0” government. “Our momentum and scale will be higher in the third term,” he stated.
