BJP MP Locket Chatterjee slammed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for the violence on Ram Navami, on Monday alleged that she is doing “appeasement politics” in the state.

New Delhi, Apr 03: Slamming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for violence on Ram Navami, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee on Monday alleged that she is doing “appeasement politics” in the state.

“The recent incidents of attacks in West Bengal and the Dharna Pradarshan by Mamata are the clear displays of the appeasement politics being carried out in the state,” she said here in a Press Conference at party headquarters. “This will absolutely not be tolerated. What has been happening in West Bengal is shameful,” she added.

The BJP MP also demanded NIA investigation over the Violence during the Ram Navami procession in the state.

“We demand NIA investigation into the case because police is only arresting Hindus, and not Muslims,” she said.

“A few days ago elections were held on the Sagardighi seat in Bengal, in which TMC was defeated. The Muslim vote got divided, after which this pre-planned conspiracy was executed to please the Muslim voters,” she said.

Accusing Mamata led government for giving priority to certain community, Chaterjee said, “The politics of appeasement is going on in West Bengal. Although Hindus of Bengal voted along with Muslims during this assembly election, she (Mamata Banerjee) has to see only Muslims.”

Endorsing Chatterjee, MP Debasree Chaudhuri said, “Mamata government is absolutely immersed in corruption. The incidents of recent attacks and upheaval are unfortunate. Mamata is playing dangerously in West Bengal.”

She said Mamata is doing this deliberately to divert attention from the corruption in West Bengal.

“As its immersion in corruption has become evident before the whole country, Mamata government has shamefully started trying to divert people’s attention …. The ongoing situation in West Bengal and the recent attacks are very unfortunate. It’s truly been a dangerous game by Mamata.”
