In the wake of the shocking shooting of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, Maharashtra Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with senior police officials, have reached Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Siddique, who was critically injured in the firing incident, is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, with his condition being closely monitored.
The incident occurred in Mumbai’s Bandra East on Saturday evening when unidentified assailants opened fire at Siddique’s vehicle. The attack has sent shockwaves through the political community and has raised concerns about security in the area. Fadnavis, upon reaching the hospital, expressed deep concern over the incident and assured that all necessary actions will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Preliminary reports suggest that two suspects have already been detained, while one more individual remains absconding. The police and crime branch have launched an extensive manhunt to locate the third accused. According to initial investigations, the two detained suspects hail from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
