
On Monday, Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey took charge as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change. Before signing at the office, Choubey planted saplings at the Indira Paryavaran Bhavan, which is said to be the headquarters of the environment ministry. He also thanked PM Narendra Modi on Twitter for giving him the new and great responsibility.
He announced the news on Twitter with signing and posted picture of planting sapling and tweeted in Hindi as, “वन, पर्यावरण एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय में कार्यभार ग्रहण करने से पूर्व परिसर में पौधारोपण किया। #मत्स्य पुराण के अनुसार:- दशकूपसमा वापी दशवापीसमो ह्रदः । दशह्रदसमः पुत्रो दशपुत्रसमो द्रुमः ॥”
“Today, I officially took charge as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change at Paryavaran Bhawan, Jorbagh, Lodhi Colony. I thank the Prime Minister for giving me a new responsibility @narendramodi Thank you from the bottom of my heart.@moefcc.”

The 68-year-old Choubey before the Cabinet reshuffle he was the MoS in Health Ministry. Besides the environment ministry, he also continues to be the MoS for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
