The Hathras Gangrape Case has drawn public anger and outrage of oppositions and has taken a casteism angle.

Today, BSP Chief Mayawati said “After the Hathras incident, I hoped UP govt will take action against people committing crimes against women. But a similar crime has been committed against a Dalit student in Balrampur. Under BJP’s UP govt, criminals, mafias & rapists are having a free run,” on the Hathras Gangrape Case.

Another rape incident happened in UP’s Balrampur, on Tuesday evening, a 22-year-old Dalit woman died after being allegedly raped and assaulted. The woman had died on the way to a hospital in Lucknow. The police said that two accused have been arrested and claimed that the post-mortem has revealed no injuries to the woman.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will pay a visit to meet the deceased kin in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh today. The leaders have heavily attacked the UP government.

“The medical examination of the body did not confirm rape,” Piyush Mordia, Inspector General (IG) Aligarh said on the Hathras incident. The victim had suffered grievous injuries after an alleged gangrape.

On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh CM has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) asked it to submit a report within seven days. The team visited the village yesterday and met the victim’s family. They inspected the crime spot and the team is still in the village investigating.

The state said it would set up a fast track court to hear the case and also announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the victim’s family, a government job for a family member as well as a house in Hathras city under the State Urban Development Agency.

On Tuesday, the Dalit girl died after being gang-raped and tortured. The last rites performed by the UP Police in the wee hours of Wednesday has provoked nationwide outrage and protests.
