Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have spoken to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take stock of the situation following the fatal plane crash near Baramati, the Maharashtra government said on Tuesday.

According to officials, both senior Union leaders contacted the chief minister soon after the incident and were briefed on the sequence of events, rescue response, and preliminary findings related to the crash.

The aircraft, a Learjet 45, crashed during landing at Baramati airport on Tuesday morning. Aviation authorities have confirmed that all five people on board were killed, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The state government said all relevant agencies, including civil aviation authorities, disaster response teams, and district administration officials, are coordinating closely to manage the aftermath of the accident.

The Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister were also briefed on ongoing procedural steps, including securing the crash site and initiating formal investigations into the cause of the accident.
