An Air India Express flight en route to Sharjah from Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu, has reported a hydraulic failure, prompting airport authorities to prepare for an emergency landing. The flight, AXB 613, encountered the issue shortly after takeoff, with 144 passengers on board.

Airport Director confirmed that more than 20 ambulances and fire tenders have been positioned at the airport to ensure that safety measures are in place. The flight is currently circling around the Trichy airport to burn fuel, a precautionary step before attempting to land.

The Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu, has instructed all officials to stay on high alert. The plane is expected to attempt a landing at around 8:30 pm.

According to sources, the problem was detected soon after takeoff. However, it is considered unsafe to land a plane with a full fuel load, which is why the aircraft has been in the air for nearly two hours, as per data from the flight tracking website, FlightRadar.

Air India sources remain hopeful that the plane can land safely, and pilots are making preparations for a precautionary landing.
