AI tools have made some tasks so easy today that earlier they used to take hours to do. Many big companies including Google are now running in this AI race and are constantly introducing new tools, but yesterday when AI changed the speech of the country’s PM, it caught everyone’s attention. Yes, yesterday during an event in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech was translated in real time using AI technology.
This is a new beginning: PM
During his speech while addressing the audience at Kashi Tamil Sangamam, PM Modi said that technology is helping him reach more people today. He also said that this was my first experience. As always, I speak in Hindi and the AI is translating it into Tamil. The PM also said that this is a new beginning and hopefully this will make it easier for me to reach you.
What is Bhashini?
For those who don’t know, let us tell you that the AI-based translation tool ‘Bhasini’ was used to translate this speech. ‘Bhasini’ is an AI-based language translation system that lets people speak in their own language while talking to speakers of other Indian languages. The Prime Minister also used this AI-based translation tool.

Last year during the Digital India Week in Gujarat, PM Modi had introduced ‘Digital India Bhashini’. According to a report, the purpose of this AI tool is to promote content creation in local languages. With Bhashini, the government intends to enrich and develop Indian languages and make digital content in native languages easily accessible.
