Following the tragic crash of Air India flight AI171, operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have resumed, airport officials confirmed. The airport is now operational with limited flight services, ensuring that air traffic gradually returns to normal.

A spokesperson for the airport stated, “Ahmedabad Airport is now operational with limited flights.” Emergency protocols remain in place to ensure safety and support ongoing investigations and rescue efforts.

Earlier today, Air India flight AI171, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. Rescue teams and authorities swiftly responded to the scene, with emergency services continuing to provide aid and assess the situation.

President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep sorrow, saying, “It is a heart-rending disaster. My thoughts and prayers are with the affected people. The nation stands with them in this hour of indescribable grief.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his condolences via social media, writing, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.”
