After 1st  December, the judgment in the extradition trial of Nirav Modi a fugitive diamond merchant, over nearly $2 billion PNB (Punjab National Bank) fraud & money laundering case will be handed down in the UK .

At Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Thursday i.e. 27th August, at a scheduled hearing , District Judge Samuel Goozee approved the timetable for the second leg of Modi’s extradition trial scheduled between September 7 and 11.

Additional hearings is also been scheduled on 3rd November, for the judge to rule on the admissibility of evidence presented before him, and 1st December, when both sides will make their final submissions.

Indicating that, the retired Indian high court judge will be among the witnesses for the second leg of Modi’s trial scheduled to begin from 7th September said Clare Montgomery, “We may have to put in an application for reporting restrictions around the reporting of his [Thipsay] evidence to avoid further public commentary on it.”
