AAP surpasses the majority mark of 126 in MCD polls

In the elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Aam Aadmi Party has surpassed the majority threshold of 126 votes.

According to the most recent State Election Commission results, the Aam Aadmi Party has surpassed the majority mark of 126 votes in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, while the BJP has received 97 votes.

As of 2 p.m., data showed that the AAP had won 130 seats and led in four. The simple majority mark in the MCD’s 250 wards is 126.

The BJP put up a valiant effort, gaining 99 wards and taking the lead in four, despite exit polls’ predictions that they would suffer a crushing defeat. With only seven seats gained, the Congress fared poorly.

Shakeela Begum, a candidate from Seelampur in northeastern Delhi, and three other Independents also succeeded.
