The Delhi Police Crime Branch has a major breakthrough on Wednesday when they thwarted a major international arms trafficking network. It is said that the links of this network connect back to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Reports claim that 10 key operatives have been arrested and a large quantity of arms and ammunition has been confiscated. There has been a seizure 21 foreign made firearms which includes a submachine gun and several automatic pistols, 200 live cartridges have also been recovered.

The recovered weapons are said to be from multiple countries which includes a PX-5.7 pistols which are reserved for special forces, Stoeger pistols from Turkiye, PX-3 pistols from China, Shadow CZ from Czech Republic, Beretta from Italy, Taurus from Brazil and Walther from Germany are also some weapons that are part of the recovery. The weapons were smuggled from Pakistan through the India-Nepal border which shows the multi-country coordination of this racket.

Financial transactions linked to the accused are being examined to identify the money trail and to catch the mastermind behind this racket and to also find out who the weapons package was intended for.

A similar operation was conducted by the Delhi Police on November 2025 where the authorities dismantled an international arms racket that used drones to transport weapons made by China and Turkiye across the border. It was found that Pakistan’s ISI and the gangs of Punjab like the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Bambiha gang are hand in hand with each other. The recent operations by Indian law enforcement agencies have made their intentions very clear that there will be a dismantling of the illegal weapons supply chain that threatens the security interests of India.
