Missing 43-year-old Nagpada BMC employee was killed by his friend and accomplice on August 26, the police have said. Narendra Mane and Akash Nikam have been arrested for murder, conspiracy and for destroying evidence.
Mane and the victim were in a relationship allegedly and the latter’s decision to get married jilted Mane.
The accused took the victim to Bhinwadi under the pretext of a party and murdered him, the police said. The body was later dumped in a pit by them. An investigation was launched after the victim’s family registered a missing person’s complaint. Police traced the victim’s last contacts and nabbed the accused. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
