In a suspected attempt to derail a train, a small gas cylinder was placed on the railway track near Prempur railway station in Prayagraj early this morning. The incident occurred around 6 AM when a goods train, en route to Prayagraj from Kanpur, was traveling on the loop line at Prempur Station.

The alert loco pilot of the JTTN goods train noticed the gas cylinder on the track just before the signal and immediately applied emergency brakes, successfully stopping the train before it could hit the cylinder. The pilot promptly informed railway authorities, including the IOW, who arrived at the scene to investigate.

Upon inspection, officials discovered that the cylinder was a 5-liter empty gas cylinder. It was quickly removed from the tracks, and further investigation into the matter has been ordered by railway authorities.

This marks yet another derailment attempt, and the railway authorities are treating the matter seriously to prevent such incidents in the future.
