However, it turns out this post was purely satirical, with the image likely generated by artificial intelligence. This isn’t the first time fans have been duped by such speculation. Earlier in the year, a similar April Fool’s joke from a liquor store in Pueblo, Colorado falsely advertised flavors like Cranberry and Raspberry from Crown Royal.
Despite these hoaxes, the possibility of a Strawberry variant isn’t entirely out of the question. Crown Royal, known for experimenting with unique flavors like apple, peach, and blackberry, has hinted at expanding its lineup. Jesse Damashek, Senior Vice-President of North American Whiskeys at Diageo, which owns Crown Royal, emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation and meeting consumer demands for diverse flavor profiles.
Damashek noted, “We look to certainly anticipate and shape consumer demand around differentiated profiles,” highlighting the trend towards more premium and versatile whiskey experiences. This consumer-centric approach suggests that if there’s enough interest in a Strawberry flavor, Crown Royal might consider it seriously in the future.
For now, while the Strawberry-themed social media post remains a hoax, it could serve as a catalyst for future discussions and potential product developments within the brand.
