Every customer is an ideal customer for us: Niraj Agrawal

After gaining a good experience in people management Niraj Agrawal started his own company Engage My Talent in 2017. Niraj, who started his career with companies like Wipro and IBM, regularly conducts workshops and seminars in lot of colleges across the country. Niraj shares with us the insights of what is his motive behind starting the company, how it started, the future expansion plans, and much more.

What is the problem you are trying to solve ? Please share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?

Niraj Agrawal: I think the biggest problem in our country today in terms of unemployment is the lack of required skills sets for the majority of the jobs available.

As per the recent report by UNICEF, majority of the Indians would not have the required skill sets for 21st century Jobs by 2030.

Therefore, we are staring at a situation which is likely to spell doom. We as a Human resource consultants are trying to bridge that gap by equipping people with the required skill sets. And once they have acquired the same, we help them find the relevant opportunities & avenues.

Tell us about the Product/Solutions. How did you get your first customer? Explain how you went about the Product Market fit process?

Niraj Agrawal: We offer all the services under the Gamut of Human Resources, ranging from Recruitment to Payroll processing.

The first ever customer we got was through a personal reference. Our services are tailor-made for different set of requirements according to different set of clients.

At the time when we started off with our operations, there was a serious dearth of HR Consultants in Kolkata. People had this misconception that HR was only about recruitment and we have been successfully able to break that perception & create awareness that there is more what you can expect from an HR Consultant apart from recruitment.

What is your USP? What is the insight that you have about this market which no one else has? Uniqueness about your start up.

Niraj Agrawal: To be very honest our major USP has been our honesty & dedication towards our clients and it holds true till this date. We as an organisation do not believe in doing different things rather we believe in doing things differently. We spend a lot of time in researching on the requirements of different clients in order to come up with the best possible solutions and off course within their budget.

What were your assumptions when you entered the market, learning that you have? Who in your mind is your ideal customer? Do you have at least one of them signed up?

Niraj Agrawal: We started-off with a clean slate. We absolutely did not have any pre-conceived notions about the market as we have always believed that assumptions can be a recipe for disaster.

Every customer is an ideal customer for us be it a Job Seeker or be it a Job Giver.

What is the big picture of your startup? Is this Service leading to something bigger? If so how?

Niraj Agrawal: Well as of now we want to consolidate and strengthen our position in the market and of course we also plan to scale up our operations as the nature of our work is such that we have enormous scope of scaling up. We wish to start off with our operations in Bangalore by the beginning of next year.
