Indian army on red alert as China refuses withdrawl from Pangong Tso

The Indian Army has been deployed issuing a red alert as China has refused to withdraw its troops from the Finger 4 region in Ladakh.

Indian army on red alert as China refuses withdrawl from Pangong Tso. Even after various efforts of disengagement on the much heated Indo-China border in Ladakh, the Chinese army has refused to pull back from the Finger 4 area of Pangong Tso.

The update comes after the hour long Corps Commander level talks between India and China, which ended on July 15. ZeeNews reports that, in the conversation on the Indo-china situation, both the parties negotiated from their fronts. However, the reluctance to withdraw troops from the Finger 4 area was clearly stated by China in the conversation.

The disengagement on the borders had begun in all areas of Ladakh by both the parties.

This news comes after the Union Defence Minister’s announcement of his visit to Ladakh for two days on 17th-18th July, 2020. The Chief of Northern Command Lt. Gen. YK Joshi is set to meet the Prime Minister in Delhi and other officials to discuss the situation along the border.

Meanwhile, considering this move by the mainland, the Indian army has been put on red alert. Various news sources report the deployment of 60,000 in East Ladakh to stop the intrusion of Chinese forces into the Indian territory. Bhism tanks, Apache attack helicopters, Sukhoi fighter jets, Chinook and Rudra helicopters have also been deployed near the Line of Actual Control.

Reportedly, the China Study Group, headed by the National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, is analysing the outcome of the high level talks between both countries. A ‘further course of action’ would also be suggested by this group as well.
