Websol Energy Systems’ shares surged nearly 2%, reaching a new 52-week high of Rs 1,855.00, after announcing plans to begin commercial production of photovoltaic (PV) cells in July 2025 at its expanded West Bengal project.
In a recent filing, the company revealed it had invested Rs 220 crore to double the capacity of its 600 MW cell line at the Falta plant. The new production line is expected to be installed and commissioned in Q1 of FY 2025-26. Websol has already placed orders for equipment and made advance payments, with commercial production set to begin mid-2025.
