The aluminium division of the Vedanta Group has reached a significant milestone by dispatching its initial consignment of low-carbon aluminium to Global Aluminium, marking a pivotal step in its mission to cater to the escalating demand for environmentally conscious products in alignment with climate goals.
Vedanta Aluminium is set to deliver 300 metric tonnes of Restora Billets to Global Aluminium, marking a historic collaboration as the first domestic recipient of this eco-friendly product, as announced by the mining conglomerate on November 15.
In a statement, Vedanta highlighted, “The supply agreement entails Global Aluminium utilizing Restora Billets provided by Vedanta Aluminium in diverse extrusion profiles, engaging in in-house value addition, including anodizing processes, aluminium powder coating processes, and precision machining facilities.”
Last year, Vedanta introduced its sustainable aluminium brand, Restora, positioning itself as India’s primary non-ferrous metal producer dedicated to the production of low-carbon products. Restora boasts a greenhouse gas emission intensity of less than 4 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per tonne of aluminium manufactured—a benchmark recognized globally as indicative of low-carbon aluminium.
As of 12:30 Vedanta shares were observed trading at a decline of 0.60%.
