United Breweries (UBL) shares surged over 2% after the company announced the commencement of production for its flagship brand, Kingfisher, at the newly leased Ilios Brewery in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. This marks a key milestone in UBL’s expansion strategy, strengthening its manufacturing presence in the southern state. As of 9:44 AM, the shares were trading 1.59% higher at Rs 1,824.30.

The state-of-the-art Ilios Brewery boasts a monthly production capacity of up to 4.5 lakh cases of beer, complementing UBL’s existing 12 lakh case capacity at the Srikakulam facility. Together, these breweries aim to meet the rising demand for premium-quality beer across the region.

Beyond production, Ilios Brewery is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, supporting over 500 livelihoods through direct and indirect jobs. The brewery’s operations will also create a ripple effect across ancillary industries, including packaging, logistics, and distribution, contributing to the local economy.
