Ultramarine & Pigments Ltd has announced the approval of a greenfield project for the manufacture of inorganic pigments at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Manapparai, Tiruchirappalli district in Tamil Nadu, according to a regulatory filing dated May 21, 2026.

The company said its Board of Directors approved the project during its meeting held on May 20, 2026. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

As per the filing, the proposed manufacturing capacity for the new facility will be 2,500 metric tonnes (MT). The company plans to invest around Rs 250 crore in the project.

Ultramarine & Pigments stated that the project funding will be arranged through a combination of internal accruals and term loans. The company also mentioned that the proposed capacity addition will be implemented in a phased manner over FY27-28 and FY28-29.

According to the filing, the rationale behind the expansion is to meet future demand through increased production capacity in the inorganic pigments segment.

The company clarified that details regarding existing capacity and existing capacity utilisation were marked as “Not Applicable” in the disclosure.

The regulatory filing was submitted to BSE under Scrip Code 506685 and signed by Company Secretary Kishore Kumar Sahoo.

Ultramarine & Pigments is engaged in the manufacturing of inorganic pigments and surfactants and operates in the chemicals sector.
