As of 12:10 PM (IST), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles emerged as the biggest loser among Nifty 50 stocks. The stock was trading at Rs 331.2, down 5.6% or Rs 19.60 from the previous close.
Shares of State Bank of India also came under pressure, slipping 5.4% to Rs 1,081.0, a decline of Rs 62.00.
Mahindra & Mahindra dropped 5.1% to Rs 3,162.0, falling Rs 170.50 in midday trading.
Similarly, UltraTech Cement declined 5.1% to Rs 11,376.0, down Rs 611.00 from its previous close.
Shares of Maruti Suzuki India were also among the major laggards, trading at Rs 13,455.0, down 5.0% or Rs 704.00.
Aviation stock InterGlobe Aviation fell 4.5% to Rs 4,206.9, registering a decline of Rs 197.20.
Meanwhile, Eicher Motors slipped 4.5% to Rs 7,280.0, down Rs 340.50.
Two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto traded 4.4% lower at Rs 9,380.5, declining Rs 435.50.
Metal major Tata Steel dropped 4.2% to Rs 190.2, losing Rs 8.26.
Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro also traded lower, falling 4.1% to Rs 3,786.7, down Rs 163.10.
