Suzlon shares jumped more than 2% in early trade after the company secured the nation’s largest wind energy order to date. The deal, which was announced today, includes the installation of 1,166 MW of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), NTPC Limited’s renewables unit.
The company will set up 370 wind turbines, each with a 3.15 MW capacity, in two Gujarat projects for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and one for IndianOil NTPC Green Energy Pvt Ltd. This large deal pushes Suzlon’s total order book to approximately 5 GW as of September 2024.
As of 10:52 am, Suzlon shares were trading 2.07% higher at Rs 76.27 on the NSE.
