Sugar stocks traded in the red as Nifty declined by 1.19% (-267.70 points) to 22,277.35. Dhampur Sugar was the biggest loser in the sector, plunging 3.14% to ₹119.67. Dalmia Bharat Sugar followed with a decline of 2.92%, closing at ₹317.50, while Bajaj Hindusthan slipped by 2.84%, ending at ₹19.18.

Other sugar stocks also saw a negative trend. Renuka Sugars fell by 2.55% to ₹27.90, Triveni Engineering declined by 2.21% to ₹343.05, and EID Parry dropped by 1.88% to ₹670.35. Balrampur Chini witnessed a 2.07% decline, closing at ₹437.75, while Avadh Sugar slipped by 1.65% to ₹383.40. Dwarikesh Sugar saw a marginal decline of 1.05%, ending at ₹39.40.

The sugar sector mirrored the overall market sentiment, with all major stocks closing in the red amid continued selling pressure.
