The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has placed five stocks under the Futures and Options (F&O) ban for March 12, 2025, after they breached the 95% market-wide position limit (MWPL). This restriction is imposed to prevent excessive speculation and maintain market stability.

Stocks under F&O ban on NSE today:

  1. BSE Ltd (BSE)
  2. Hindustan Copper (HINDCOPPER)
  3. IndusInd Bank (INDUSINDBK)
  4. Manappuram Finance (MANAPPURAM)
  5. Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL)

Impact of the F&O ban:

  • No fresh positions can be taken in these stocks’ derivative contracts.
  • Existing positions can only be squared off to reduce exposure.
  • The ban will be lifted only when the open interest falls below 80% of the MWPL.
