Stock Market Update: Indian market to remain open on March 2, Saturday for special trading session from DR site

According to the exchange, the markets will open for two separate sessions and the second session is expected to be held from the DR site.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) in a circular on Wednesday said that the exchange will conduct a special live trading session on March 2, Saturday with intraday switch from primary site to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site, for both cash and derivative segment. “Members are requested to note that Exchange shall be conducting special live trading session with intra-day switch over from Primary site to Disaster Recovery site on Saturday, March 02, 2024 in Equity and Equity Derivatives segments,” said NSE.

This comes days after the earlier schedule for special live trading was postponed due to a holiday on March 22 amid the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The session was earlier scheduled on March 20, Saturday.

According to the exchange, the markets will open for two separate sessions and the second session is expected to be held from the DR site. The 1st session will start at 09:15 am and end at 10:00 am, pre-opening will happen as usual like on all regular trading days. The second session over the DR site will start from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, pre-opening will start at 11:15 am to 11:23 am.

“All securities (including those on which derivative products are available) will have a maximum price band of 5%. Securities already in 2% or lower price band, shall continue to be available in the respective bands,” said NSE in its circular on Monday.
