The Indian equity markets continued their bullish run for the sixth straight session on April 22, 2025. The BSE Sensex climbed 187.09 points, or 0.24%, to settle at 79,595.59, while the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 41.70 points, or 0.17%, to close at 24,167.25.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers for the day, with a strong inflow of ₹1,290.43 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) recorded net selling worth ₹885.63 crore. The net institutional investment stood at ₹404.80 crore, reinforcing continued optimism from global investors.

As per Trendline data, here are the top performing Nifty 50 stocks:

  • ITC closed at ₹432.9, up 2.4%

  • Hindustan Unilever ended at ₹2403.0, rising 2.2%

  • Jio Financial Services gained 1.7%, finishing at ₹250.6

  • HDFC Bank also gained 1.7%, closing at ₹1960.0

  • Mahindra & Mahindra ended at ₹2811.1, up 1.7%

  • Tata Consumer Products rose 1.6% to ₹1138.6

  • Bharat Electronics climbed 1.2% to ₹303.5

  • JSW Steel rose 1.1%, closing at ₹1044.9

  • Kotak Mahindra Bank closed at ₹2265.0, up 1.1%

  • Eternal posted a 1.0% gain, ending at ₹236.6

Broader Market Action

In the broader market, Alok Industries led the charge among gainers, surging 18.7%, followed by TI at 14.35% and EMIL at 13.91%. RTN Power and Data Patterns also advanced over 8–10%.

On the losing side, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance declined by 5.64%, while KSCL, IndusInd Bank, Aether Industries, and Just Dial dropped between 4.3%–5.0%.

With continued foreign inflows and broad-based buying, market sentiment remains buoyant, setting a positive tone ahead of upcoming earnings and macroeconomic data.
